In a French high school, a tenth-grade student was regularly mocked by her classmates for her weight and clothing style, which were considered “different” from the group. The teasing occurred both in class, through sarcastic remarks and humiliating nicknames, and outside of class, via messages and photos shared in a class WhatsApp group.
Over the weeks, these repeated humiliations led to social isolation, with the student being excluded from group activities and digital exchanges. Continuous exposure to criticism significantly affected her self-esteem and sense of safety at school, resulting in a gradual withdrawal from both academic and social life.

Identifying and documenting forms of bullying related to physical appearance, which are often underestimated by adults.
Detecting early signs of eating disorders and school-related anxiety or phobia.
Protecting the victim while addressing the group of responsible students in an educational manner.
Raising awareness among the entire class and school about the psychological impact of appearance-related teasing.
Maintaining the student’s education and mental health while respecting her confidentiality.

✔ The student regained self-confidence and participates more actively in lessons and school activities.
✔ Classroom teasing has significantly decreased thanks to awareness-raising and mediation efforts.
✔ Digital interactions on WhatsApp have been monitored, and the student is no longer excluded.
✔ The risk of eating disorders and school-related anxiety has been reduced through regular psychological and medical support.
✔ The class has developed a culture of vigilance and respect, enabling faster identification of potential bullying situations.
